Round Up: Sweet Emilia Jane

We are so excited to see what Sweet Emilia Jane is bringing to HITCHED. With her own brand of vintage loveliness, we are sure to be in for a treat! Check out her work here and here and come meet her at HITCHED!

Why do you do what you do?
I have always loved creating things - dances, jewelry, decorations, cupcakes - and I am also a super organized planner. Event planning and design is just the perfect blend of those two parts of my personality. Plus I love love and I'm a big mushy romantic. I love being a part of something so precious and helping couples show off their personalities during such a special day.
What should brides/grooms know about your service?
I don't believe there is an exact recipe for wedding planning and sometimes I like to break the rules. Each wedding is custom and unique to the couple. I want them to feel like their wedding totally represents their personalities and style.
What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Lots of love. It doesn't matter if there are 30 people or 300 people, the best weddings are when you can feel the love and support from everyone in the room. And a kick-ass dance party.
Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
Anyone who knows me knows that I love me some cake. But I hate the history of the cake cutting tradition and that really bums me out. I'd love for someone to come up with a rad reason for feeding each other cake (without shoving into each other's faces, please...that's just cake abuse).
What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
I love to have fun and think outside the box.

In a nutshell:

Camping or Glamping?
I used to set up a tent in the backyard when I was a kid. Definitely camping (with an air mattress).
Cake or pie?
Cupcakes!
Beach or desert?
I used to be all beach but recently I have had a love affair with the desert.
French wine or Mexican beer?
Champagne.
Beatles or Stones?
Can I have a little of both with some Gram Parsons mixed in?
Mac or PC?
I have a love hate relationship with a PC.
Plaid or stripes?
Chevron all the way.
Boots or sneakers?
Flip flops or barefoot, mostly.
Night owl or early bird?
Night owl by nature but early bird by necessity.
French fries or milkshake?
Mmmm....milkshake.
Cat or dog?
Aw...both.
Hay or Chivari chairs?
Ghost chairs go with everything.

Round Up: Brown Paper Design

Talented floral designer, Danielle Rowe Zunt of Brown Paper Design, takes inspiration from everything from the most familiar memory to a far-away destination. See Danielle's inspiration and work and meet her at HITCHED!

Why do you do what you do?
I love the exchange of emotion in flowers. Being able to translate that for someone for such a special moment- whatever the occasion is-- I think there is a real poignancy there.
What should brides/grooms know about your service?
I only work with people I connect with. Otherwise I can recommend a million other talented people. I think it's important to get where your client comes from right off the bat.
What makes a wedding super rad to you?
A good bar. Kidding. Sort of. A great environment, that feels easy but special. When all the details are taken care of in a way that doesn't feel contrived, just feels like a moment you want to hold on to.
Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
The limbo. I don't know. Lately, tradition comes up less and less for people. I think it's great when people pull from their heritage and carry those things forth. Certain cultures have more of that than others. I love to work with people that pull from those things in order to add some guts to their wedding.
What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
I don't want them to remember me. I want them to remember the flowers/environment we create.

In a nutshell:

Camping or Glamping?
I am from Colorado, so I've done my share of camping. Even Glamping is pushing it at this point.
Cake or pie?
Cake!
Beach or desert?
hmmm.. I would say Mountains.
French wine or Mexican beer?
A place and a time for both.
Beatles or Stones?
Stones. Hands down. Some Beatles post drug days, but Stones.
Mac or PC?
Mac.
Plaid or stripes?
Stripes.
Boots or sneakers?
Vans.
Night owl or early bird?
Early Bird.
French fries or milkshake?
That is an unfair question. They should be enjoyed together.
Cat or dog?
Dog.
Hay or Chivari chairs?
I'm going to go with a nice long wooden bench. Somewhere in the middle.

Round Up: Dandelion Ranch

With the philosophy "less manipulation is better", Dandelion Ranch finds the lovely balance between cafully curated designs and use of the flowers' natural movement. Check them out here and meet them at HITCHED!

Why do you do what you do?
I am a slave to mother nature.
What should brides/grooms know about your service?
That everything we do is painstakingly customized to fit their style and identity.
What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Each wedding is a new frontier incorporating the bride and groom's vision and personality into reality. Themes are especially fun. This is where we really get to expand our wings and have fun. Because it is the most special day (until then) in their lives.
Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
Chiavari Chairs! Period. Can we do away with these forever please? Okay, and the bouquet toss. Does anyone really do this anymore?

Round Up: Amy Atlas

Amy Atlas sets the bar in sweets table design. Her delicious and inspired creations have brought new light to the traditional wedding cake standard. See her work here and here

Why do you do what you do?
I get to combine my love for sweets with my eye for design to create something spectacular for brides and grooms

What should brides/grooms know about your service?
We're not caterers, but rather were stylists for sweets. We find the best desserts from all around the globe and marry them with interesting props, customized signage and cute craft details to tell a story about the bride and groom.

What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Lots of music, good friends and family, and of course, cake.

Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
So many brides and grooms see each other before the ceremony so they can get the "perfect picture." I'd love to see that shift again so that there is that wonderful element of surprise during the ceremony. There is nothing quite like the look on a groom's face when he sees his bride for the first time right before the ceremony.

What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
Not only will we fill you up on delicious sweets, but we'll also leave you and your guests with a sweet lasting impression.
