Round Up: Grey Likes Weddings

HITCHED will have a bridal fashion show to salivate over curated by the stylish Summer Watkins of Grey Likes Weddings. Summer works in the emerging field of engagement and wedding photo shoot styling, and you must meet her!

Why do you do what you do?
I’m not sure if it’s because I get bored easy or because my brain doesn’t work quite right, but I’ve always got to be doing something different, interesting and creative.

What should brides/grooms know about your service?
Styling services for engagement shoots and weddings is a new concept and it would be great to see more couples look into the idea.

What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Personal, smaller weddings where you feel like you have time to talk to every person there, enjoy your dinner, spend time dancing, and really really celebrate what just took place. I hate rushed weddings.

Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
Bouquet toss. Why not give your bouquet to the couple who’s been married the longest?

What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
I’m passionate about making things beautiful!

In a nutshell:

Camping or Glamping?
Depends. Is a photographer going to be shooting it?
Cake or pie?
I suppose my love of a good berry crisp would put me in the “pie” camp.
Beach or desert?
I grew up in the desert and escaped to the beach. No doubt, beach all the way.
French wine or Mexican beer?
Wine. It’s better for you…right?
Beatles or Stones?
Stones.
Mac or PC?
MAC. Why is this even a question? Does that make me a snob?
Plaid or stripes?
Fall/Winter: Plaid Spring/Summer: Stripes
Boots or sneakers?
Boots!
Night owl or early bird?
Night owl all the way. Unless going to bed at 5am makes me an early bird in the technical sense
French fries or milkshake?
You’d be a fool to separate the two.
Cat or dog?
Cats. Plural.
Hay or Chivari chairs?
Neither.

because it's fun and majorly rewarding on so many levels. plus i can't think of anything i'd rather do more..unless there's a profession i'm not aware of where i could travel the world having luxury adventures and cuddling puppies.
What should brides/grooms know about your service?
you're not going to look back on your wedding photos in 10, 20, 30 years and go "WHAT WERE WE THINKING!". i keep things classic and stay away from the trends. and, i put FUN very high on the priority list for the day.
What makes a wedding super rad to you?

What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
i'm changing this question to : what do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about weddings?
it's YOUR wedding, do it how YOU want to. bring your personalities into it, choose your vendors based not only on the quality of their work (which you should LOVE) but also on their personalities, eat lots of your wedding cake (cupcakes, dessert bar, whatever), laugh often, don't hold back the happy tears, and most importantly: stay focused on what it's all about.... YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED!!!!

Whatever they believe to be true by looking at my pictures :)

What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Amazing people, and visual beauty everywhere... and unique ideas.

Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
I wish to see money dances completely disappear- but I haven't seen many of those lately. Also, doing the whole thing where you put cake on each others faces, that would be better if it were not around.

What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
Well, since we're all going to be dropping acid together at this party- hopefully I will be remembered as A Golden God.

In a nutshell:

Camping or Glamping?
Probably Glamping. Haven't done it yet but something tells me I'll enjoy comfort more than the lack thereof.

Round Up: Bonnie Tsang

Bonnie Tsang is her name and capturing intimacy and emotion with her photographs is her game -- and she plays it so well! See more of Bonnie's work here and meet her at HITCHED!

Why do you do what you do?
I'm a visual person. When I see a moment so meaningful, I'd have a hard time coming up with words; beautiful? amazing? But with photography, my camera captures that one moment, as well as my feelings, and it's so true with the saying, "a picture is worth a thousand words."
What should brides/grooms know about your service?
That I capture the wedding day in its truest form.
What makes a wedding super rad to you?
When everyone is enjoying their day and not pay attention to a thing I do.
Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
Not so much a tradition, but it'd be nice if wedding parties can take their time to walk down the aisle instead of rushing.

What should brides/grooms know about your service?
It's awesome.

What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Any and all use of the word "rad." BMX bikes are a nice touch as well.

What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
Our name and phone number.... and that whole thing about being awesome.

To a country band, "Glamping" means faking your way through a Glen Campbell song. So definitely glamping!

Round Up: Floral Lab

Having fun with flowers! Floral Lab answers our HITCHED questionnaire. Yeehaw!

Why do you do what you do?
I get to play with flowers and everyone loves flowers! I love that I can create floral decor and personal flowers that are a reflection of the bride and groom's style. The best part is delivering flowers to the bridal suite and seeing the brides reaction to her bouquet.
What should brides/grooms know about your service?
I'm the person they send that first email to. I'm the one they meet with and the one that writes up their design proposal. I'm also the person to deliver, set up and break down at their wedding. I'm with them every set of the way.
What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Rad weddings are comfortable parties.
Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
Forget the "first look." Lets go back to the days when the bride and groom don't see each other until the bride walks down the aisle.
What do you want the guests at HITCHED to remember about you?
That I brought a fresh prospective and that anything goes as long as it's truly "you."

Round Up: Sitting in a Tree

These business partners and friends really know how to throw a party! Myka and Tori of Sitting in a Tree specialize in making their client's big day special and they do it from San Diego all the way up to San Francisco.

Why do you do what you do?
We would be doing it anyway. This is who we are, inside and out. We can't remember the last time we threw a party and it wasn't detail driven to the point that it kinda scares our guests. We live for design and love to create. It's second nature.

What should brides/grooms know about your service?
That we want to make the wedding about them, not us. It's not a wedding from a blog, or your cousin's wedding. We want to really reflect the couple and ignore traditions if they don't apply. This is your event and your chance to make a statement about your style. You only get one (fingers crossed) and it should be as unique as you are. There should be no rules.

What makes a wedding super rad to you?
Personality. Quirkiness. The unexpected. All the things that make memories. By making a wedding truly original you are creating something your guests will talk about for years to come.

Name one wedding tradition that you wish to see re-invented.
The old fashion wedding send off. We wish more brides/grooms would change into their "honeymoon ready" outfits as they head off into the evening.
